We had a wonderful time (again) at Cooks &amp; Soldiers. This time in a intimate setting with fellow foodie friends. Having the chef choose our menu, and the waiter pair it with excellent wines made our meal a great, relaxed and conversational experience. We will certainly return!

The entire bar area offers a vintage and luxurious atmosphere. Dim lighting, leather sofa seats. The bar decoration inspiration combines Rat Pack (the &quot;Rat Gang&quot; active 60s scorpion rock group), three-tour Martini lunch, and the classic movie godfather, successfully creating a unique atmosphere in the 20th century.

Don&#39;t be fooled by the modern interior decoration and plain tones, this is a southern-flavored restaurant known for comfort food. The main series is grits and a variety of daunting side dishes, such as roasted and freshly preserved pork shoulder meat, carefully cured sour cucumber, garlic cloves are also one of the choices.

Having traveled in the Basque region of Spain, this was a treat on many levels other than the nostalgia bit. First of all, it is a lovely and lively atmosphere. It was too hot to dine outside, but on a nice night, it would be delightful. Inside is noisy, but fun! The service is friendly, competent, and helpful in deciding how to tackle the menu. We didn&#39;t have anything bad. Nothing. But the standouts were the grilled pulpo, ensalada atun, meat platter, and the Basque gateau for dessert. The drinks were great - La Lorea and pale green something were both good. I had a glass of the bobal which was good, and one of our party had one of the mescal drinks which was excellent. Oh, I forgot the grilled cheese - not particularly Basque with American white cheddar, but still crispy and delicious!

Went there before a show @ Terminal West - what a treat. We sat outside and it was great. Our server was really helpful and entertaining too - always there when we needed something, never hovering over us and bothering us when we didn&#39;t. A fun, tasty dinner done right. The Wrecking Bar Kolsch was also delicious and went perfectly with the octopus and other food we had. Love this place.

Showed up for our 8:15 reservation only to discover that the only table they had available was on the patio. It&#39;s the hottest day of the year in Atlanta and 90 degrees at the time we showed up. We were told that if we want to sit inside it would be 35 minutes. I asked why they didn&#39;t specify on their reservation system whether the table is inside or outside. The host was completely unhelpful and not even apologetic. He said there was nothing he could do. At that moment the manager walked over...he was even less helpful. Mentioned we could wait in the bar. No space at all in the bar or in the little entrance way. The whole purpose of reservations is that when you arrive, there&#39;s a table. I had been looking forward to trying this place. Fortunately I called Marcel and they could take us.
